The Showing Hearts Foundation has worked in Southeast Queens since 2015. We are a small organization by design — close enough to the block that when a family needs winter coats, we hear about it from the church down the street rather than from a report.
That closeness is also why a gift here lands differently than it does at a national charity. We are not moving your donation through a regional office. It buys the coats, stocks the closet, feeds the students at the summit, and keeps the lights on at a community space that other Queens nonprofits use for free.

What your donation funds
Four programs, all run out of Queens, all free to the people who use them.
Free essentials, no questions asked
Queens Community Closets pop up at churches and community centers across the borough, stocked with clothing, shoes, household items and personal care essentials. There is no cost, no sign-up, no appointment, no income verification and no paperwork. Families walk in during event hours and take what they need.

Youthpreneur is a six-week, twice-weekly curriculum for high school students covering business planning, financial literacy, career exploration and leadership. It ends at the annual Youthpreneur Summit at York College, where students pitch live for a share of up to $10,000 in prizes.

Heart for the Community is direct outreach — food drives, clothing drives, toy drives, holiday giveaways and block-level projects across Queens, run with local partners who know their neighbors by name.

The Hub in Queens Village gives grassroots organizations workspace, event space and a capacity-building cohort. Funding this program multiplies — it reaches every community those organizations serve, not only ours.
